Études’ distinctive offering in the city of lights makes it a must-shop when in Paris and a must-see on the PFW calendar. Over the years, this multidisciplinary Parisian collective, lead by Aurélien Arbet, Jérémie Égry and José Lamali has been designing contemporary menswear staples infused with streetwear vibes. For Spring/Summer 2018, this direction continued. Tapping the home front for inspiration, Études looked to the Parisian Métro for inspiration and presented fashion with a decidedly public transportation spin.
The overarching attitude of the collection was relaxed ease. This was achieved with workwear offerings of overalls and varied shirt jackets and a number of denim pieces. Streetwear submissions came via oversized trenches, slogan tees, and graphic tops. While the majority of the cuts and fits stayed true to the label’s roomy silhouette, a number of tees and trousers demonstrated a classic aesthetic. Notable pieces though were the green stripe linen suit, whose hues came directly from the Métro tickets and a very yellow jeans suit that solidifies the color as a sure SS18 trend. Additionally, the white jeans jacket plastered with embroidered illustrations of Paris landmarks was a nice addition and workable piece on any outfit.
