Montell Martin is a grounded, happy fellow and everybody loves it. With Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton and Raf Simons on his resume, the 21-year-old British model has made quite a splash in the two short years since kicking off his modelling career.
Martin was snapped up by Select Models in 2015 while working as a promoter for a few London nightclubs. His first season, AW’16, saw him book12 shows in Paris and London, not an easy feat for a new face. In between booking Burberry campaigns and evolving as a regular and favourite at fashion week, the Londoner dabbles in fashion design himself, with his label, Stop Snitching Clothing. Carried by retailers such as Harvey Nichols, the streetwear label is proving to be a successful endeavour for the young, “model-preneur” on the rise. Montell is all about making moves and moolah.

What’s your heritage?
MM: I’m from Jamaica, Barbados & Antigua.
How did you get discovered?
My friend was a model at select and told me to walk in, and the rest was history.
If you can chill with anyone, dead or alive, who would that be and why?
Sean Combs, so I can speak to him about mentality.
If you would be a song which would you be?

Animal, Disney character, or superhero, which one would you be if you could be one?
A Super Hero because I’ve always wanted to be one.
What’s your greatest wish for yourself?
To get everyone to believe they’re great.
What do you offer that no one else does?
No clue.. hahaha. My personality, perhaps?
What’s your greatest accomplishment?
When Harvey Nichols started selling my clothing line.
What would you do if you would not be modelling?
Figuring out how to get rich quick. Hahaha.
Scariest moment of your career?
Falling just before I had to walk my first fashion show.

Staying cool in the majority of stress filled situations
Happiest moment in fashion?
Landing the Burberry Campaign and the Raf Simons Campaign
What do you want to see change in the fashion industry?
Appropriate make up and hair stylists.
What does model behavior mean to you?
Depends on my mood, haha.
